MEDIA FAM TRIP TO ILOILO 2006

 

The DOT and Cebu Pacific Air teamed-up to host Fragrant Harbour Magazine Proprietor/writer Mr. David Robinson to visit Iloilo and cover the 34th Iloilo Paraw Regatta held on 18-19 February 2006.

PHILIPPINES' ANCHOR DESTINATIONS FEATURED IN RADIO TELEVISION HONGKONG STATION 1

 

The RTHK Station 1 featured the Philippines' tourist destinations in its Travel Program, which broadcasts live on air every Saturday from 4:00-6:00 pm. During the program, the presenters introduced the country's anchor destinations with essential travel information about these key places discussed at length for the benefit of all listeners. New year presents totalling almost HK$20,000 were given away to listeners who answered Philippine trivia questions correctly.

 

The first part of the series aired on Saturday 7 January 2006, focused on Manila, while the second part aired a week later on the 14th, featured Bohol, Boracay and Palawan.

TAXI ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED

 

No less than Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, had the first glimpse of the Philippine Department of Tourism-HKSAR's taxi advertising campaign in Hong Kong during her brief visit to the territory. A fleet of 100 highly visible Hongkong urban taxis, travelling all-over the Kowloon Peninsula & Hongkong Island, display the "WOW Philippines" destinations in their 4-door panels. The campaign runs from November 2005 to April 2006.

BUS AND TRAM ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS LAUNCHED

 

Following the highly successful run of the "WOW Philippines" Bus Advertising Campaign in May 2005, The Philippine Department of Tourism-HKSAR has launched the second phase of the Bus Ad Campaign. From September to October 2005, twenty-two double decker buses of the Kowloon Motor Bus & City Bus Companies, plying the Hong Kong Island-Kowloon Peninsula cross-harbour route, displayed the Philippines' destinations in its super-side & driver side panels.

 

Coinciding with this project, the PDOT-HKSAR also launched the HK Tramways Advertising Campaign. From October to November 2005, ten trams traversing the Kennedy Town to Shau Kei Wan, Hong Kong Island route, showcased the same creative Ads on both its driver & super-side panels.

HONG KONG TRAVEL AGENTS & MEDIA FAM TRIPS TO DAVAO, MANILA & EL NIDO, PALAWAN

 

The Philippine Department of Tourism-Hong Kong SAR and Philippine Airlines have once again teamed-up and successfully organized the recently concluded Hongkong travel agents & media familiarization/inspection trips to Davao, Manila & El Nido, Palawan.

 

The Davao Fam Tour was effectively carried-out on 18-21 August 2005, while the Fam trip to Manila and El Nido was sucessfully completed on 26-28 August 2005.
